广东省保险行业协会（以下简称协会）于2003年10月正式成立，它源自于1995年成立的广州保险业公会，是广东省（不含深圳市，下同）商业保险机构和市、区保险行业协会自愿结成的保险行业自律性、非营利性的社会团体法人，接受广东省民政厅的监督管理及中国银行保险监督管理委员会广东监管局及省政府有关职能部门的业务指导，独立、公正地开展工作。 协会的宗旨是：遵守中华人民共和国宪法、法律、法规和国家政策，遵守社会道德风尚，为会员提供服务，维护行业和会员合法权益，加强行业自律、维护市场秩序和公平竞争，促进行业交流合作，加强行业宣传和文化建设，推动我省保险行业和谐健康发展。 协会最高权力机构是会员大会，理事会是会员大会的执行机构，理事会常设办事机构为秘书处。协会由会长担任法定代表人。截至2022年8月，协会共有会员单位132家，其中财产保险会员公司51家，人寿保险会员公司61家，地市保险行业协会20家。 协会曾被广东省民政厅评为2004年度“全省先进民间组织”，是中国保险行业协会常务理事单位、广东省社会组织总会常务理事单位。2015年8月，协会被广东省民政厅评为5A等级社会组织。

Guangdong Association of Insurance Industry (hereinafter referred to as the Association) was officially established in October 2003. It originated from the Guangzhou insurance industry association established in 1995. It is a voluntary and non-profit social organization legal person in the insurance industry formed by commercial insurance institutions in Guangdong Province (excluding Shenzhen, the same below) and municipal and district insurance industry associations, Accept the supervision and management of the Civil Affairs Department of Guangdong Province and the business guidance of the Guangdong regulatory bureau of China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and the relevant functional departments of the provincial government, and carry out work independently and impartially. The purpose of the association is to abide by the constitution, laws, regulations and national policies of the people's Republic of China, abide by social ethics, provide services for members, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the industry and members, strengthen industry self-discipline, maintain market order and fair competition, promote industry exchange and cooperation, strengthen industry publicity and cultural construction, and promote the harmonious and healthy development of the insurance industry in our province. The highest authority of the association is the general assembly, the Council is the executive body of the general assembly, and the permanent office of the Council is the Secretariat. The president of the association shall be the legal representative. As of August 2022, the association has 132 member units, including 51 property insurance member companies, 61 life insurance member companies, and 20 local and municipal insurance industry associations. The association was rated as the ""provincial advanced non-governmental organization"" in 2004 by the Department of civil affairs of Guangdong Province. It is the standing director unit of China Insurance Industry Association and the standing director unit of Guangdong Social Organization Association. In August 2015, the association was rated as a 5A level social organization by the Department of civil affairs of Guangdong Province.
