On April 18, 2019, the 2019 Guangzhou Financial Industry Promotion Conference with the theme of "Finance Helps the New Development of the Aviation Industry in the Bay Area" was successfully held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Conference Center. On January 14, the 2019 Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao Financial Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in Hong Kong, with the theme of financial exchanges and cooperation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Guangzhou representative said at the promotion meeting that Guangzhou would continue regular financial exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao, and try to establish a financial exchange and cooperation alliance of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The establishment of the International Commercial Bank of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will give full play to the function of the Guangzhou Financial Development Service Center and the Guangzhou International Finance Expo as financial exchange and cooperation platforms, and promote high-end exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad. On the same day, the Financial Development Index of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area debuted. The index was jointly launched by the National Institution for Finance and Development, the Bureau of Financial Affairs of Guangzhou Municipality, and the Southern Metropolis Daily. It includes a financial deepening index, financial integration index, financial environment index, financial inclusion index, financial openness index and financial innovation index, which can be used to track the construction experience and development trend of the Greater Bay Area and propose advice on the construction of the Area, based on its advantages. The Bureau of Financial Affairs of Guangzhou Municipality and financial institutions in Guangzhou have signed contracts on various aspects such as green finance, cultural finance, and environmental information disclosure with relevant government departments of Hong Kong and Macao, domestic and foreign financial institutions and enterprise representatives.
